THE EFFECT OF AIR TEMPERATURE ON THE STABILITY OF REST PERIOD AND LONGEVITY OF APRICOT TREES

S. Bulatović, M. Bulatović
The apricot culture is concentrated in a small number of ecological centers among which is particularly appreciated Subotica, with 36.83% of all fruit trees in the Autonomous Province of Voyvodine, and 10% of Yugoslav apricot trees. Taking into consideration this fact we are trying to explain causes of such distribution of apricot trees in the region of Subotica, which is the objective of our research. Many authors investigated physiological properties of apricot trees, among which should be mentioned the following: Breviglieri (1958), Bulatović (1970), Dimitrovski (1967), Gavrilović (1955), Guerriero-Filoyannis (1975), Ivić (1966), Kovalev (1967), Maričić (1968), Malčanov (1969), Paunović (1968), Sergeev (1961, 1962, 1968) and Vavra (1966). However, our investigation is considerably different than others ones, since we payed attention on the conditions during dormancy of apricot trees, which are not equal and which can explain higher extention of this species in the region of subotica.
