GUM FORMATION IN PRUNUS

R. Stösser
The paper describes the formation of gum ducts in Prunus. The initials of the ducts are located between the medullary rays and they show dense cytoplasm and nuclei and nucleoli are conspicious. Later the cell walls are dissolved and transformed to gum. 14C-labelled sugars are easily incorporated into gum.
