GENETIC RELATIONSHIP AND DIVERSITY OF EIGHT JUGLANS SPECIES IN CHINA ESTIMATED THROUGH AFLP ANALYSIS
Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers were used to estimate the genetic relationship and diversity among 8 Juglans species and 1 Peterocarya stenoptera C. DC. in China.
Eight primer combinations produced a total of 833 bands, 819 (98.32%) of which were polymorphic among the 31 materials.
Clustering analysis showed that all 31 materials were basically classified into 4 groups corresponding to the 8 Juglans species.
Our results indicate that the genetic relationship of these 8 Juglans species based on AFLP analysis was not consistent with their classification by traditional methods.
In addition, the genetic diversity among the 8 Juglans species was clearly revealed.
The findings obtained in this study are useful for the breeding in Juglans species.
