LIGNIVOROUS FUNGI EVOLUTION ATTACK ON APRICOT TREE IN ROMANIA

Under the pedoclimatic conditions prevailing in Romania, biological decline of apricot tree is caused by the lignivorous fungi parasitizing the trunk and the branches: Cytospora cincta, Eutypa lata, Monilinia laxa, Schizophyllum commune, Stereum purpureum, Coniothyrium amygdali. The roots are parasitized by Cylindro¬carpon radicicola and Fusarium sambucinum.

The infections are favoured by climatic conditions that increase the host plant susceptibility, and the pathogens' virulence. The phenological stage of the host plant plays also a role in the development of infections. The period of the highest suscepti¬bility for the apricot is the autumn, when the leaves fall, until April of the next year.
