IDENTIFICATION OF 'DONGYUAN' LONGAN BY RAPD ANALYSIS

‘Dongyuan’ (Dimocarpus longan Lour.) was found to be a good germplasm by Agricultural Research Center of Dongguan in 1996. In order to find out whether it has a different name with the same thing between ‘Dongyuan’ and the main commercial varieties of longan in china, ‘Dongyuan’ and seven varieties (‘Gushan No.2’, ‘Shixia’, ‘Chuliang’, ‘Dawuyuan’, ‘Caopuzhong’, ‘Linglong’ and ‘Shuinan No.1’) were examined by RAPD in this assay and discussed the genetic relationships among them with clustering analysis. The results showed there was no synonym among them; ‘Dongyuan’ is a new logan line.
