STUDY ON BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERS OF 'SIJIHUA' LONGAN

The ‘Sijihua’ longan (Dimocarpus longan Lour.) had the specificity of blossoming and bearing fruit throughout the year under natural conditions, without any physical or chemical treatment. However, the available information on its biological and economic characteristics was still not enough in China. In this study, the biological characteristics of ‘Sijihua’ longan such as the botanical characteristics, phenological period, blossoming and fruiting, characters of shoots and fruits development were investigated preliminarily, providing basic data for further research on the mechanism and regulation technology of flower formation of ‘Sijihua’ longan and other relative fields in future.
