SELECTION AND BREEDING OF 'GUINUO' (LITCHI CHINENSIS SONN.) - A NEW CULTIVAR OF BIG FRUIT SIZE
Guinuo (Litchi chinensis Sonn.), a new litchi cultivar selected from offspring plants of mutated individual seedlings in Guangxi, was examined and approved by Crop Variety Authorization Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in May of 2007. The cultivar was characterized with its big fruit size, excellent eating quality and high yield.
Its pulp was low in juicy and crisp.
The average weight of fruit, edible portion and content of soluble solid were 37.02 g, 73.36% and 18.55% respectively.
