INVASIVE EXOTIC TREES IN THE CONSERVATION UNITS IN CURITIBA, BRAZIL

E.C. Mielke, F.L. Cuquel, R.R.B. Negrelle, W. Pizatto
One of the greatest challenges worldwide is the loss of biodiversity in Conser¬vation Units (CUs) due to their infestation by invasive exotic trees (IETs). Aiming to provide additional basis to a better understanding of the IETs global dispersion as well as to their local control, the results from a qualitative and quantitative IETs survey (DBH ≥ 15 cm) at 22 CUs of Curitiba (Parana State, Southern Brazil) are presented and discussed.
