Jackfruit is one of the tropical fruits with multiple uses. Huge variability exists in this crop due to seed propagation. Vegetative propagation will help in fixing the characters of superior types. A study on softwood grafting in jackfruit was conducted at the Department of Horticulture, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad by taking up grafting using different aged rootstocks. The results indicated that seven-months-old rootstocks gave the highest graft take (51.90%) and higher number of leaves (2.33) and sprouts followed by nine-months-old rootstocks. Both younger and older rootstocks gave lesser graft take.
