ASSESSMENT OF ACHILLEA CARTLAILAGINEA INTRODUCED FROM WILD TO FIELD COLLECTION
This study contributes to the primary knowledge on the chemical composition of Achillea.
Cartilaginea Ledeb. ex Rchb.
Essential oils from inflorescences and leaves of nine field accessions were isolated by hydrodistillation and investigated concerning their composition by GC and GC-MS. Essential oils were characterized by the dominance of oxygenated monoterpenes.
According to the major constituents the essential oils distributed into six chemical profiles.
The composition of ethanolic extracts from inflorescences, leaves and stems was analyzed by HPLC method.
Phenolic compounds, namely chlorogenic acid, luteolin-7-O-glucoside, rutin, apigenin-7-O-glucoside, luteolin and apigenin, were identified in extracts of
A. cartilaginea. The inflorescences accumulated higher amounts of luteolin-7-O-glucoside, apigenin-7-O-glucoside, luteolin and apigenin while leaves were found to be superior with regard to chlorogenic acid and rutin.
Essential oils of
A. cartilaginea are noteworthy for the levels of β-sesquiphellandrene, sabinol+ chrysanthenone and cis-chrysanthenol, whereas extracts dominated for amounts of chlorogenic acid and rutin when compared to A. millefolium.
