SYSTEMS OF SOIL SURFACE MAINTENANCE AND WEED CONTROL IN APRICOT PLANTATIONS IN BULGARIA
The state-of-the-art, approaches and problems related to the systems of soil surface maintenance in apricot plantations in Bulgaria are discussed in the paper.
Data on apricot acreage and yield, climatic conditions, weed species and associations, systems of soil surface maintenance (black fallow and grassing), and susceptibility to herbicides are here presented.
Suitable herbicide products for application in modern apricot production are recommended, as well as alternative approaches for limiting their use to appropriate reach an efficient cultural management and reduce the environmental impact.
