According to investigation and data analysis, jujube germplasm resources were introduced in Yunnan province. The main resources included different cultivars of Indian jujube (Ziziphus mauritiana Lam.) and Chinese jujube (Z. jujube Mill.). We studied Yunnan ecological adaption zone environmental factors and the characteristics of Chinese jujube and Indian jujube, and divided the jujube growing region in Yunnan province into three zones, namely dry Chinese jujube zone, fresh Chinese jujube zone and Indian jujube zone. As a traditional and vital fruit tree, jujube’s economical and ecological values had not been well recognized in Yunnan province and southwest China. It should be studied, utilized and popularized by research institutions for its huge potential.
