Call for applications: ISHS Editor-in-Chief
The governing Board of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) is working to make the society's publication strategy more efficient.
At present the plan is to keep at least one journal that will remain an open access journal and will be published by a non-profit publishing company through a partnership agreement.
In addition to being renamed the journal will also be restructured to include new categories of articles to be more reflective of the diversity of research and other scholarly contributions of ISHS members.
ISHS is seeking a volunteer to serve as Editor-in-Chief, overseeing the peer reviewed journal JISHS and its conference proceedings, Acta Horticulturae.
This individual will initially work with the Publications Subcommittee of the ISHS Board and have strong input into the structure of the revamped journal and the organization and recruitment of associate editors for screening the content of the journal.
The Board would like to continue and encourage the submission of more extensive manuscripts related to presentations at ISHS symposia for publication in this journal, in lieu of publishing shorter papers in Acta Horticulturae.
For this reason, it is important that the Editor-in-Chief also have purview over Acta Horticulturae as well as the JISHS.
If you are interested in applying for the Editor-in Chief position please contact Prof. Yao-Chien Alex Chang (alexchang@ntu.edu.tw), ISHS Board member responsible for publications and Chair of the ISHS Publications Subcommittee, and provide him with your name, contact information, summary of scientific and publications experience as well as a statement of your interest in working in this capacity.
The deadline for receiving your application is December 21, 2023.
