Abstract
Persimmon originated in China, in which China has the longest cultivation history and highest production in the world.
Here, we summarized the current situation and development trend of the persimmon industry and scientific research from the aspects of industrial scale, genetic improvement, cultivation method, and processing technology in China, according to the official data and public literature, and on-site visiting and survey information.
Although China has the largest production, there is still a place for relevant improvements in terms of yield and economic benefits in the future.
