Abstract
Yield, size and fruit quality of several citrus cultivars grown in northern Sudan were studied for 3 years.
Comparable low yields and/or fruit quality were obtained with all sweet orange cultivars within the "valencia" and "navel" groups.
Comparable low yields and/or fruit quality were obtained with all sweet orange cultivars within the "valencia" and "navel" groups.
Yields for grapefruit cultivars were generally low due to lack of proper tree management programmes in previous years. "Shamber" grapefruit recorded a considerable low yield.
All grapefruit cultivars, however, produced good quality fruit. "Kinnow" and "Wilking" mandarins outyielded all other cultivars. "Orlando" tangelo and "Kara" mandarin produced relatively larger fruits than other mandarin and mandarin-like cultivars.
The "Eureka" acid lemon selections outyielded the Lisbon group. "Frost" and "Cavers" within the Lisbon group produced extremely low yields.
