QUALITY CONTROL IN THE PRODUCTION OF CARNATION CUTTINGS IN THE NETHERLANDS: THE ROLE OF THE N.A.K.S.

J.E.M. van Ruiten
All carnation cutting producing nurseries in the Netherlands are legally bound to be affiliated to the N.A.K.S. By this Service quality standards are set to be met by the producers. Inspection is carried out regularly on motherplants as well as cuttings.

Propagating material can be approved if it is true-to-type, healthy and of a good external quality. A special classification is made for the production of virustested material.
