Abstract
The vegetative propagation techniques of propagating mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) are described and illustrated in this article.
Propagation techniques described include seed propagation, cleft grafting, saddle grafting, side-cleft grafting and approach grafting.
The advantages and disadvantages of each propagation technique are also discussed.
With the success in vegetative propagation of this crop there is potential for shortening the normally long juvenile period and management of a suitable tree structure for facilitating fruit harvests.
