MORPHOANATOMICAL CHARACTERS OF AESCULUS HIPPOCASTANUM L. BARK, FRUIT AND LEAVES

O.A. Di Sapio, S.J. Gattuso, M.A. Gattuso
The morphoanatomic features with diagnostic value for the identification of Aesculus hippocastanum L. as a crude drug have been examined. Qualitative and quantitative data and the distinctive parameters obtained from the bark, fruit, seed and leaves micrographic analysis provide a sure margin for the correct botanical identification of the species.
