Abstract
The spray application of aqueous solutions of gibberellinA4+A7 (GA4+7) at zero, 5, 10, 20 ppm to different cultivars of subtropical peach (Prunus persica Batsch) viz Shani-Punjab, Flordasun, Flordared and Sun Red nectarine at the fully swollen flower bud stage increased the set, retention, weight, colour, yield, total soluble solids (TSS) and TSS/acid ratio of the fruit as compared to unsprayed controls.
The different cultivars of peach responded differently to the various treatments of GA4+7. Most of the desirable effects were achieved with the treatment of GA4+7 (5–10 ppm).
