Temperate Tree Nuts
The Division Temperate Tree Nuts (DNUT) aims to bring together scientists, experts, and stakeholders to share the most advanced knowledge derived from research on nut crop orchard production systems in temperate climates. It also seeks to foster scientific collaboration and explore new research frontiers along the entire production chain, from farm to table.
The Division is organized into the following six specialized Working Groups:
- Almond and Pistachio,
- Walnuts and Pecan,
- Chestnuts,
- Hazelnuts,
- Precision Management of Orchards and Vineyards,
- Fruit Tree Propagation and Certification.
Key shared areas of interest are: tree biology and physiology; genetics and breeding; cultivar and rootstock evaluation; vegetative propagation and nursery certification; orchard systems management; mechanization and automation; sustainable and precision horticultural practices; pest and disease control; harvest and postharvest handling.
