Walnuts and Pecan

About this Working Group

Working Group Walnuts and Pecan operates under Division Temperate Tree Nuts. It is composed of scientists interested in the whole range of basic and applied research topics in walnuts (Juglans spp.) and pecans (Carya illinoinensis). Specifically, this includes all topics related to walnut and pecan research and culture such as breeding, genetics, plant physiology, agroecology, orchard design, canopy management, orchard soil management, plant mineral nutrition, irrigation and water relations, pest and disease management, as well as crop-specific agricultural engineering, food science, food safety, postharvest storage, human nutrition, marketing, economics, and rural policy.
