Second International Symposium on Moringa (ISM-2019)

For the first time under the aegis of the ISHS, the II International Symposium on Moringa was held from 10-13 November 2019 in Pretoria, South Africa.

The symposium was jointly organized by ISHS, the Agricultural Research Council (ARC), the Moringa Development Association of South Africa (MDASA), and the University of Witwatersrand (WITS), University of Pretoria (UP), Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), and Department of Science and Innovation (DSI).

The symposium was attended by 125 participants from 25 countries who came to share their experiences, expertise and knowledge on a wide range of topics including botany and germplasm, production technology and agroecosystem, health and nutrition, industrial uses and cross commodity. The symposium's book of abstracts contains 53 oral presentations and 34 posters and these were presented during the symposium. More than 19 exhibitors, partners and sponsors displayed their products and services in tables and stands.

The plenary, technical and scientific sessions were held under the theme: "The Power of Moringa in Solving Global Challenges".
